There was a story in the news yesterday about a Pittsfield Township hit and run accident. The accident took place on Monday, June 7th, in the evening hours. According to police, a 13-year-old boy was riding on a scooter in the 3400 block of Hillside Drive when a car struck him. The young boy was transported to the U of M hospital. He suffers injuries including a broken leg.

There was a story in the paper today about six people injured in an I-94 three car accident in Ann Arbor on February 13th in Washtenaw County. According to the Michigan State Police, the three-car accident occurred on eastbound I-94 at the State Street accident ramp. Causes of the accident are still unknown at this time. There was a tragic story in the paper today about a woman killed in a fatal garbage truck accident near Ann Arbor on February 9th in Washtenaw County. According to the Michigan State Police, a 35-year-old Ypsilanti woman was driving her car on I-94, near Michigan Avenue, when she was allegedly t-boned by a garbage truck. The woman did not survive the crash. Police are still investigating this accident.

There was a story in the paper today about a student injured in a Marion Township school bus accident on January 8th in Livingston County. According to the Livingston County Sheriff, a 10 year-old male student was injured when the school bus he was on was allegedly rear-ended by a vehicle from Mobility Services Wrecker of Ann Arbor on D-19, south of Wright Road. The student was taken to St. Joseph Mercy Livingston Hospital for treatment of his serious injuries. Police are still investigating this accident.

There was a story in the paper today about a fatal Ypsilanti Township pedestrian accident on December 6 in Washtenaw County. According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s Office, the pedestrian was walking along Michigan Avenue, near Wiard Road, when a 17-year-old driver allegedly attempted to swerve to avoid hitting the pedestrian but was unable to avoid the pedestrian. The pedestrian was killed on the scene. Police are still investigating the accident.

There was a story in the paper today about a pedestrian seriously injured in a Barry Township hit and run accident on November 26 in Calhoun County. According to the Barry Township Police, a 50-year-old woman was walking on Delton Road when she was allegedly hit by a dark colored sedan or minivan that fled the scene of the accident. She was taken to Borgess Hospital for treatment of her serious injuries. Police state that the vehicle may have damage to the hood or front end and was last seen on M-43. Police are still investigating and ask anyone with information to call them or Silent Observer at 1-800-310-9031.

There was a story in the news today about an accident involving a York Township pedestrian hit by a dump truck on November 18 in Washtenaw County. According to the Washtenaw County Sheriff’s department, a 20-year-old York Township man was walking on Judd Road, near Moon Road, when he was allegedly struck by a dump truck. He suffered serious injuries and is in critical condition at a local hospital. Police are still investigating this accident.

There was a story in the paper today about four people injured in a Springfield car accident on November 17 in Calhoun County, near Battle Creek. According to the Springfield Department of Public Safety, the four Springfield residents, including an infant, were seriously injured when the female driver of their car turned onto Dickman Road from WyndTree Apartments and was allegedly struck by a car traveling west. The female driver had to be cut from the car. All four residents were taken to a local hospital for treatment. Police are still investigating this accident.

I read a story in the newspaper today about a fatal M-14 wrong way accident this morning near Beck Road on the Washtenaw/Wayne County border. According to the Michigan State Police, a 58-year-old Ann Arbor woman was driving on M-14 when a car allegedly travelling the wrong direction, driven by a Beverly Hills woman, hit her head-on. The Ann Arbor woman died at the scene.

Police state the driver lost control of her car and alcohol was not a factor.  The Beverly Hills woman was taken to St. Joseph’s Hospital. Police are still investigating this tragic accident.
