Medical Malpractice Lawsuit Filed Against Veterans Administration Hospital
Ann Arbor medical malpractice lawyer Lawrence J. Buckfire recently filed a lawsuit against the Veterans Administration Hospital in Ann Arbor. The suit was filed on behalf of a veteran who suffered serious and permanent injuries due to negligent medical treatment at the hospital. The patient was given a contrast during a testing procedure which caused him to code and go into cardiac arrest. He suffered both physical and neurological injuries as a result of this complication.
The suit alleges that the hospital and treating physicians should have taken more precautionary measures to prevent serious injury or harm during this procedure. Additionally, the suit contends that the test should not have been administered in the first place due to the pre-existing medical conditions of the patient. The lawsuit seeks significant damages against the United States of America for the permanent injuries suffered by the veteran.
The lawsuit was filed in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan-Southern Division. The trial judge has recently issued a scheduling order. The parties have begun to exchange written discovery.
